PROJECTS, PROGRAM AND PRODUCTIONS

The Rafael Manriquez Kolectivis a group of musicians, producers and Manriquez family members who are inspired by the cultural legacy of Rafael Manriquez to continue his work in the Bay Area promoting Latin American culture with a distinct allegiance to social justice and folk life. They promote events and spaces for musicians and artists where music is celebrated as the one of the deepest forms of human interaction. Iris Arts and Education Group has agreed to be their fiscal sponsor. This group produced The Rafael Manriquez Festival in May 2015. They are now producing CHILE AL CANTA A LATINO AMERICA at the Solano Stroll in Berkeley in September 2015.

Voz Propia Fundacion project in Longo Mai developing programs for children including theater, art, music with cultural education, gardening and sustainability education.  Iris works as consultant with this project.

PRODUCTIONS, VISUAL PROJECTS

Visual shorts in conjunction with Voz Propia Fundacion in Spanish for children's eco-education. 
Completed to date: Jaguar Woman, El Sol Llegar.

Work with Recording Heritage, a 501(c)3 in developing 3D models of historical heritage sites.

THE SOUL OF OAXACA The narrative for this short has been recorded in both Spanish and English using the voice of renowed poet Rafael Gonzales. When the audio is complete it will be posted on this site.

CASA VIEJO DE PANAMA - Short about Casa Viejo in Panama City, a small penisula about 12 blocks by 8 blocks where the color and diversity of Panama is clearly visible - ranging from Presidential Palaces to empty houses with jungles growing from their interiors.  Inspired by the idea of the doors we pass through during our lives which lead to thoughts about how doors are points of transition from one place to another, on state to another she took photographs of 150 doors in this unique old city.

QUEST FOR JUSTICE - Japanese version. This is for the movie about the women in the regions that were over-run by the Japanese who were sent to “comfort stations” for Japanese military forces as sexual slaves during World War II.   We need to record Japanese narrative, complete Japanese subtitles and complete in a sound studio to release in Japan. In process, translated, need to complete subtiltles
